Compunication History

Since 1986

"Compunication never questioned the value of people as the best asset of any company. We made people grow."

Our founder Lasse Laaksonen was training manager at TT-Innovation Oy (subsidiary of Tietotehdas Oy). Despite his education in economics, mathematics and computer science, he had no idea how to teach and coach adults.

Colleague Heimo Mäntylä gave him the book "The Revolution of Learning" (David Ostrander). It was a shock. Lasse immediately began studying English and Swedish with the best suggestopedia schools. He studied the Suzuki piano teaching method and rewrote all his own teaching and coaching slides and materials.

Participants learned everything better and even in one-third of the time.

Pure suggestology in addition to logical approach. Lasse wrote the methodology guide ConSALT®, which combines the approaches of the best teachers, consultants and coaches.

Birth of Compunication Era™

IBM's Vision

IBM had earlier revealed their internal archives about the future with computers and communication, where people and computers were connected through vast and fast data networks. French sociologists Alain Minc and Simon Nora launched the term "compunication" to describe the new era.

The reader of this material was Lasse Laaksonen, who was doing his master's thesis "Automation of Information Sector" based on Dr. Marc Uri Porat's American Post-organizational trend studies. Compunication Era™ became a concept when Laaksonen was in KPMG cooperation with Harvard IT professor R. L. Nolan for years.

Kathmandu

Nepal's Prime Minister visited Finland and met Compunication representatives four times outside his official program. He wanted to see us and ask what to do about Kathmandu's badly polluted city.

Unfortunately, they put everything into international tender. We came second. But the winner couldn't show anything that would really work. We could.
